Supporting Your Employees with Workplace Counselling and Corporate Services

We all experience stress from time to time, but when stress and anxiety persist over longer periods, they can significantly impact employee productivity and overall well-being. It’s not just the stress itself, but also related health issues triggered by prolonged anxiety that can lead to increased sick days and high staff turnover.

Miscommunication and dysfunctional teams can damage not only the efficiency of your business but also the overall work atmosphere, lowering morale and further impacting your employees’ experience. Clashes between different personality types, left unchecked, can escalate from minor disagreements to more serious issues such as workplace bullying. Similarly, new systems, procedures, or restructuring can create anxiety and resistance, while forced team-building exercises or poorly planned coaching can leave staff feeling alienated.

It’s important to remember that personal issues—whether family problems, bereavement, or simply a string of bad days—can also affect how employees perform and interact in the workplace. Too often, the root cause of these issues is overlooked.

Setting Up an EAP or Workplace Counselling for Your Employees

It’s easy to get started. Simply contact us to set up an initial appointment. We will need your invoice details and an idea of how many sessions you would like to offer your employee. While we usually recommend around 12 sessions to enable meaningful and lasting change, we are flexible. Some companies offer unlimited sessions, others set a maximum limit, and some provide a fixed number.

Whatever arrangement you choose, we conduct regular reviews and strive to achieve the best results with the minimum number of sessions.

Confidentiality in Workplace Counselling

Confidentiality in workplace counselling is slightly different, as there is a record of your employee attending sessions. Typically, you will receive invoices with your employee’s name (or a reference number, if preferred) and the type of appointment invoiced, though this can also be labelled as ‘professional services’ if required.

You will be informed of your employee’s scheduled appointments and attendance, but the content of the sessions will remain confidential between your employee and the therapist. In cases where communication with the employer may be helpful, this would only occur at the employee’s request.

Psychological Assessments

If you request a psychological assessment, a full report will be provided. However, your employee must provide written consent before the assessment takes place and sign a disclosure form allowing us to share the report with you.
